Michael Jackson was born on July 18, 1964, and he was raised in Hollywood, California.
His parents divorced when he was three, and the singer and songwriter is believed to have been raised by his maternal grandparents.
He moved to Los Angeles in 1978, where he began to work as a singer and artist.
After his break from performing in the late 80s and early 90s, Jackson worked with his brother, the rapper Nelly, on the 1993 album A New Beginning, which he recorded in the wake of the Rodney King riots.
A year later, Jackson made a documentary about the riots, but it was a huge failure at the box office.
He later released The Michael Jackson Story in 1999.
His first album was 1994’s I Am….
The following year, Jackson released his third studio album, In My Time of Need.
In 2018, Jackson’s fourth album was The Thrill of the Chase.
Jackson’s fifth album, The Michael J. Fox Show, arrived in October 2019, but sales tanked and it never made it to stores.
The next year, his sixth album was Thriller, and it was his most commercially successful album to date.
Jackson was a regular on the talk shows, and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2019.
Jackson died in April 2021 at the age of 89.
